Cheswick

Cheswick is a long sandy beach that runs from Cocklawburn at the north end to Goswick at the south. Goswick, in turn, runs down to the tidal area around the Holy Island causeway. A walk south along the beach will take in good views to Lindisfarne Castle and Bamburgh. You can then return north behind the beach and through the dunes. There are, however, some fairly dire warnings about unexploded munitions, so you should probably watch your footing!

Photographically the beach doesn’t have the interest of, say, Cocklawburn but there’s plenty of detail and it’s a popular spot for wading birds.
